A Wabash Railroad freight train passes the Stanley office complex in Decatur, Illinois. This night-time scene looks like a Christmas card, with a full moon highlighting a clear cold sky. "Follow the Flag" was the logo theme of the Wabash. The lead locomotive #1189 carries green flags denoting that it is a "second section" of a 2-train run. The United States flag flies proudly on the lit-up milti-tier Stanley office building. The many lights on the tiers alternately change colors, thus giving the building its nickname, the Birthday Cake Building. A State of Maine boxcar is part of an adjacent consist in effect giving the painting a patriotic theme, purposely placed there by the artist for his post-911 series of paintings.
