Bloom Fine Art and Antiques, Inc. is an online dealer and auction house specializing in the sale of 19th and 20th century European, American, and Asian antiques, collectibles, decorative arts and fine art. The owners are the third generation in their family to be involved with the arts and antique trade. Bloom Fine Art and Antiques, Inc. is located in the New York City area and we have been in the business for 6 years, operating a warehouse and now dealing almost exclusively on the Internet. Lisa Bloom teaches art history and women's studies and has a Ph.D from the University of California. She brings many years of background in art and antiques to this enterprise. She has taught at a number of West Coast universities and has published articles and edited an anthology on gender and contemporary art titled "With Other Eyes: Looking at Race and Gender in Visual Culture" (University of Minnesota Press, 1999). In July of 2000, she completed the required exam in Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice from the Appraisers Association of America.
Mary Battaglia received her MA in Fine and Decorative Art from Sotheby's Institute of Art-London. Prior to her studies abroad, Mary completed her BA in Art History and Eastern Religions from Boston University. During her academic career, she worked in various capacities within the visual arts until she narrowed her interest to the commercial art-world leading her to Bloom Fine Art & Antiques.
Jessica Mizrachi received her BA in Art History from Cornell University. A deep interest in material culture led her to the Bard Graduate Center, where she received her MA in the History of Decorative Arts, Design, and Culture. Her Master's thesis was a study of a small antique shop in upstate New York where she worked during and after her time at Cornell. Prior to Bloom Antiques, Jessica held positions at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art, and The Jewish Museum in New York City.
