Bamboula provides work and income for artisans in Ghana,
Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania by purchasing handcrafted products directly from
artisans. at fair prices, and uses the principles of Fair Trade in all of
its transactions with the artisan. Jasperdean Kobes, the owner, travels to
Africa several times a year to work directly with the artisans in the development
of new products for the American market. She developed her passion for Africa
when she was a Peace Corps Volunteer Teacher in Harar, Ethiopia. The products
are very popular, especially the recycled glass and baskets. |
